Welcome back to The Legend Queens! We’re excited to kick off Season 3 and introduce you to two concepts that we will continue as the primary subjects of our discussions this season: astral projection and remote viewing.
But before we dive in, we want to be real with you - we know these topics can be controversial, and we're not here to push any particular belief system. Our goal is to provide solid information and tips for anyone interested in exploring astral projection or remote viewing. So, if you're considering trying it out for yourself, we strongly recommend doing your research and consulting with a pro first. It's always better to be safe than sorry!
Now that we've got the important stuff out of the way, we're thrilled to kick off this three-part season. Over the next few weeks, Amber will be taking us on a journey through the ins and outs of astral projection while Austin guides us through the fascinating world of remote viewing. It's going to be an incredible season, and we can't wait to share it with you!
Oh, and just a heads up - this season is totally different from Seasons 1 and 2, but they're still worth checking out if you haven't already. As always, your views, shares, and comments help our LGBTQIA+-owned and operated newsletter more than you know! Thank you for being here.
Shall we begin?
Introduction to Astral Projection
Written by Amber Brevig
Have you ever heard of an “out-of-the-body experience” or OBE? I hear about them most when I hear stories of people who have had near-death experiences.
Their recollection typically goes something like this:
“I was in a car crash, and all of a sudden, I was floating! I could see my body below me, unconscious in the car… but I also felt this pull elsewhere. I started to follow the pull, but I saw my deceased family member, and they told me it wasn’t my time yet, and I needed to go back to my body to wake back up… when I eventually did go back to my body and open my eyes, the EMTs were amazed! My heart had been stopped for 7 minutes. Living was a miracle… a medical impossibility. But I know that I chose to come back and wake back up… and that’s why I believe in the afterlife.”
Sound familiar? I’ve heard dozens of stories like this throughout my life, and it’s sparked a little bit of a fascination with this seemingly “in-between” space where someone is neither alive nor dead (which is why I wanted to explore it more and share my findings with y’all!).
What is Astral Projection?
Astral projection is similar but not quite the same as a near-death experience. Both are considered to be OBEs, but the term astral projection was popularized by Sylvan Muldoon, a man from the early 1900s who devoted much of his life to demystifying this out-of-body practice by teaching himself to go to this astral realm at will.
In his book “Projection of the Astral Body”, astral projection is described as an experience where your spirit is detached from the physical restraints of a human body while still being attached to the body by a translucent cord. This spirit and cord are ethereal - naked to the human eye but still existing within our dimension. Muldoon states that the only difference between an OBE and death is that in death, this cord is severed (and if the cord were ever to be severed during an OBE, the human body would physically die in that instant as well).
Muldoon goes on to say that once someone is astral projecting, they are able to travel anywhere they can think of - they can instantly travel to other places on Earth, other dimensions, and different points in time.
Similar OBEs can happen spontaneously, during meditation, or during lucid dreaming. I won’t be covering any of those topics this season, but it’s important to note that these are all believed to send a soul to the astral realm or other dimensions, which I will be diving into deeper in later chapters!
What Does Astral Projection Feel Like?
Oliver Fox gathered a collection of reports of astral projection in the early 1900s called “Astral Projection - A Record of Out-of-the-body Experiences”- in these reports, peoples state their out-of-the-body experience often feels like they are weightless or flying. Muldoon’s book also describes the ethereal body as having “superhuman abilities,” such as being able to instantly teleport back to your physical body when you are ready to return to it and the 3D world.
Although the thought of flying and teleporting around Earth sounds like it could be fun, many people who have astral projected state that they were afraid or anxious during the experience (I don’t know if your ethereal body has organs, but I would likely have an astral heart-attack if I woke up and was floating away from my body so I cannot blame anybody for having anxiety about this!).
Is Astral Projection Dangerous?
Aside from the apparent danger of your ethereal cord getting cut, there are other dangers in this dimension. The first of these is simply staying away from your human body for too long - Oliver Fox’s collection reports this can lead to physical harm or even death.
Separation from your body, however, isn’t the only thing to fear. It turns out that you aren’t alone in the astral realm - and there are strict rules you must adhere to while visiting so as not to be discovered by the other creatures that dwell in this dimension. The living does not belong there. I’ll get into that more in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already!
What Are Some Common Misconceptions About Astral Projection?
One common misconception about astral projection is that it is some magical or supernatural power that can be used to manipulate or control others. However, this isn’t any psychic skill, like Mediumship or using the God Helmet, as we’ve covered in Season One.
According to the collections in Oliver Fox’s book, astral projection is simply the experience of separating one's consciousness from their physical body and exploring alternate realms and dimensions. It's not about controlling others or changing reality in any way. People are observers in the astral realm - not manipulators of time and space.
Another common misconception is that astral projection is always a positive or spiritual experience. While many people have reportedly had positive and transformative experiences during astral projection, it's essential to recognize that not everyone has the same experience. If the person having an OBE isn’t mentally prepared for it, they can experience extreme fear, anxiety, and trauma.
To minimize the risk of negative experiences, it's crucial to approach astral projection with care and preparation. This might include techniques like meditation, visualization, and keeping a journal of experiences to help understand and process any feelings that may arise.
How Can Astral Projection be used for Personal Growth and Development?
Many people believe that astral projection can be used as a personal growth and spiritual development tool. By exploring alternate realms and dimensions through astral projection, one may gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the universe. During an OBE, individuals can tap into higher states of consciousness and access information and insights not available during their waking state.
By confronting fears and limiting beliefs during astral projection, individuals may be able to overcome these obstacles and develop a greater sense of connectedness and empathy with others. For example, if someone has a fear of heights, they may be able to confront and overcome that fear using astral projection by flying through the sky or into space. Similarly, if someone has a limiting belief about their abilities, they may be able to access a higher state of consciousness during astral projection and gain a new perspective on their potential.
Astral projection should never be used as a substitute for professional mental health treatment and should always be approached with caution and proper preparation to ensure a safe and positive experience. It is also important to have realistic expectations about what astral projection can and cannot do for personal growth and development. While some people may have transformative experiences during astral projection, it is not a guaranteed path to enlightenment or spiritual awakening.
While astral projection can be a valuable tool for personal growth and development, it is not the only way to achieve these goals. Many other practices and techniques, such as meditation, mindfulness, and therapy, can also be helpful for personal growth and development. Or like… listening to podcasts or high-vibe music like ordinary people. Trauma dump on the internet. You know - millennial things.
I’m excited to dive into peoples’ specific stories about their astral experiences in chapter 2! But for now, I’ll leave you with these two questions:
Have you or someone you know ever had an out-of-the-body experience?
If you could astral project without consequence, where would you go?
Let us know in the comments below, and we’ll see you back here for our next iteration on March 5th!
An Introduction to Remote Viewing
Written by: Austin Charles Bolkcom
Over the next several weeks, together we are going to explore the Extra Sensory Perception ability known as Remote Viewing. We will walk through an introduction of some ideas of the ability as well as some of the topics we’ll be covering during our time together going over this extraordinary phenomena.
Studies of humans with special abilities has always been a big interest in pop culture, ranging from media such as: books, movies, tv shows, radio broadcasts, graphic novels, you name it! Evidence of humans with paranormal powers has always been shotty at best but nonetheless still fascinating because of the subject being studied and some of the data being produced. One of these powers that has been looked at closely is the ability of Remote Viewing, sometimes also referred to as Controlled Remote Viewing.
The ability to describe locations one has not visited or had no prior knowledge of.
Remote Viewing, otherwise also popularly known as Extra Sensory Perception (ESP), is the ability of human beings to perceive information and imagery of remote geographical targets with little to no knowledge of the target before engaging in a session of Remote Viewing. The subject is put into a trance like state and with the assistance of a beacon to help them hit or describe their target in detail. These descriptions can use sight as well as taste, smell, sound, feeling, or other forms of perception to collect information. The details derived from these senses are just as important as any visual cue that might appear to the Viewer while under their trance. The remote viewer and beacon engage in back and forth conversations, probing further to see what the viewer can gather from the target. By the end of the session the two derive together more of what the viewer saw before their data is sent off to someone to put the pieces together.
A person, referred to as a "beacon" or "sender," travels to a series of remote sites. The remote viewer, a person who putatively has the parapsychological ability, is asked to describe the locations of the beacon. Typically, these location descriptions include drawings and a verbal description of the location. Subsequently, a judge evaluates this description by rank ordering the set of locations against the descriptions. If the judge finds that the viewer's description most closely matched the actual location of the sender, a hit is said to have occurred. If hits occur more often than chance, or if the assigned ranks are more accurate than a random assignment, one might argue that a psychic phenomenon has been observed: the viewer has described a location not visited during the session. This phenomenon has been studied by various investigators throughout the intervening period, using several variants of this basic paradigm.

This interested many government bodies once they became aware of the potential use to spy upon other countries to gather intel but also as a concern that others might be using this on their own country, stealing state secrets. Because of this concern, the CIA had even created a group with the sole intention of developing their ESP to see if they could in fact use this ability to secure the country while also keeping tabs on enemies and allies. These remote viewers would be the new weapon and front to be used in The Cold War when the US was desperate to get any leg up they could against their Soviet counterparts.
With Communism on the rise, the US Government was desperate to get any leg up that they could on The Cold War they were experiencing with The Soviets, especially because they had intel that was telling them that they were spending tremendous amounts of money on these psychic fronts. That desperation took them to the realms of researching and funding development into Remote Viewing, not only so that they could get more information from The Soviets but also to find a way to defend critical details that they didn’t want their enemies having access to. Soon the CIA dubbed this Project Stargate and for the next 20 years would continue to research this psychic phenomena funded by our Intelligence Community apparatus.
Some of the original proponents of Remote Viewing, not only as a legitimate way of securing information or viewing an event but also as a resource that everyone should dive into, are Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff. Targ and Puthoff were a pair of physicists who worked as parapsychologists at the Stanford Research Institute. Though the idea and concept of Remote Viewing has been around for centuries in the ideas of lucid dreaming, the “third eye” or even scrying, these two are credited with coining the term when they were added to their fields of research while working at the facility. The research done by these two men would eventually lead to the CIA and US Government funding project Stargate with the sole intention of maturing a special group of spies ESP skills to tactfully use them in the field of espionage.
Another proponent of Remote Viewing is Lori Lambert Williams, a pioneer, teacher, practitioner, and advocate for the modern movement and research looking into the field while supposedly the government is taking a back seat or disregarding RV entirely as a possibility in the year 2023. Lori has a success rating of eighty-six percent among Remote Viewing practitioners when typically most users have somewhere around a thirty percent success rate on a good day. Outside of her using her ESP ability for clients, Williams has also dedicated herself to the teaching and spreading of information about Remote Viewing so that more people can practice and hone their skills. Writing numerous books and having courses online that she purposely keeps at a low price so that the information is accessible to those far and wide. Lori believes that outside of being able to view targets on earth, Remote Viewers are able to view targets off planet and even project themselves into viewing different solar systems.
Would you be interested in taking a course or learning more about how to Remote View? Or do you think that would be “far out there” for you?
